Book event - The Continent of the Future
You are warmly invited to join us for an inspiring and thought-provoking evening exploring perspectives on Eurocentric blind spots, African youth movements and the position of Africa on the world stage as the continent of the future.
Date: 11 March, 2026
Time: 7:00–9:00 pm
Venue: Unseen, Nairobi
The evening will open with welcoming remarks by the Deputy Ambassador of the Embassy of the Netherlands. This will be followed by a lecture by Daaf Borren, author of The Continent of the Future, offering reflections and insights that set the stage for the discussion ahead.
We will conclude the programme with a panel discussion featuring Kenyan youth voices, sharing their perspectives on opportunities, challenges, and the future of Africa and Europe in a changing world order.
As places are limited, we kindly ask you to confirm your attendance by completing the attached registration form. Attendance will be confirmed on a first-come, first-served basis.
We kindly ask you to indicate in the form whether you would like to purchase a (signed) copy of The Continent of the Future, in order to estimate how many books should be brought to Kenya.
We look forward to welcoming you for an engaging evening of dialogue.

‘A penetrating portrait of a continent too often caricatured. Borren approaches his journalism with a student’s curiosity, looking deeper and listening more intently.’
Ruben Terlou, Dutch documentary filmmaker.
